If you are interested in funding a First World War centenary project, the Heritage Lottery Fund is holding an advice session on Thursday 31 March at the Broxbourne and East Herts CVS Office, Nigel Copping building, Sanville Gardens, Stanstead Abbotts SG12 8GA between 11am and 2pm. You can book a slot by emailing Sally Page sally.page@hlf.org.uk or calling her on 01223 224884.
Heritage can include anything that people value and want to pass on to future generations. For example, HLF can help groups with funding to research the history of their local high street, or restore an historic building or monument, like an existing war memorial. HLF can also give funds to help record memories, undertake small archaeological digs, digitise archives and can help with improvements and displays for wildlife sites.
Grants include support for First World War (available until 2019), repair of listed church buildings and community heritage projects with a grant programme offering £3,000-£10,000.
The Borough of Broxbourne have recently been awarded for the ‘Pulhams of Broxbourne’ project, being delivered by the Lowewood Museum and B3Living Housing, find out more about this exciting project here.
