Rachel Duffett, lecturer at the University of Essex and a member of the Everyday Lives in War centre, has been researching the lives of George and Albert Stopher through the extensive collection of letters they left behind. The two brothers from the village of Sweffling in Suffolk were killed on the Western Front within a few weeks of each other, in the spring of 1917.
